It’s a bit scary to read the research about what happens if our needs are out of balance because it is PROVEN in a 25-year study that one of these four things will happen:

1.We may develop a physical ailment/illness

2.We may develop a psychological difficulty such as depression, anxiety etc.

3.We may have an accident of some kind

4.We may revert to old addictive behaviour or develop a new habit such as drinking more alcohol, taking drugs, gambling, sex addiction etc.

No wonder many leading therapists and doctors use the Human Givens / Needs framework.
